At Southampton Aztecs Futsal Club, we’re proud to create an inclusive place where culture and sport come together. That’s why we’re so happy to celebrate our partnership with Mestizo, who are sponsoring our women’s teams for the third season in a row as our official back-of-shirt sponsor.
The Story Behind Mestizo
Mestizo started as a labour of love in 2004. When they opened, the founders knew they had a big responsibility to bring the best authentic Mexican food to London. They believe their cuisine is vibrant, diverse, colourful, and simply delicious.
Over the last decade, the team has worked hard to be great ambassadors for Mexican food. Today, they celebrate that journey with every visitor. Mestizo now runs two busy restaurants in London, in Camden and Chelsea, showing their deep devotion to authentic Mexican culture and food. That same colourful spirit and focus on community make them a natural fit for our futsal family.
Aztecs x Mestizo: Impact on our growing Club
Running women’s teams across different tiers of the national league requires significant dedication and poses major financial and operational challenges. Travel, facilities, and equipment all need steady support. Sponsors who commit to multi-year partnerships, like Mestizo has for three seasons, give us the stability to plan ahead. Their support means our female athletes have the resources, kit, and platform they need to show their talent on a national stage.
Culture, identity, and sport often come together in amazing ways. For Mestizo, supporting the Aztecs is a special chance to connect cultures and celebrate shared values of community and passion. Carlos shared his thoughts on the partnership:

Seeing those vibrant colours on the court during matchdays adds an extra special energy to our games. It serves as a daily reminder that sports can unite people from all walks of life under a common banner of excitement and mutual respect.
As our women’s teams continue to develop the next wave of futsal talent, having Mestizo by our side makes the journey even more rewarding.
