Why futsal?
Futsal is an exceptionally fun sport, enjoyed by millions around the world. Cited by many great footballers, including Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, as a significant part of their football development, futsal is also a great sport in its own right. Professional leagues exist in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, as well as many other nations across Europe, South America, the Middle East, and South East Asia. In Europe, you will find futsal teams at giants such as FC Barcelona, Benfica, Anderlecht, and Sporting Club de Portugal. Like in football, these teams compete for the grand prize in the UEFA Champions League. International players come together to compete in the FIFA Futsal World Cup, in addition to their confederation tournaments, such as the Euros and the Copa America.
Kids love futsal as soon as they try it. Smaller sided games mean that players get more of the ball, never feeling left out. The fluid rotational nature of attacking means that, while there are still positions and shapes, players end up everywhere, and are not stuck in a position, never attacking and never defending. Rolling subs allow players to work at their maximum effort for short bursts, before coming off to recharge, aiding in maintaining a high intensity throughout the game. High scoring matches mean that even when you lose, you still tend to score lots of goals! Let's not forget that futsal is indoors, shielding players and spectators from the cold, the rain, and the mud. Games aren't cancelled due to weather!
