28th January 2023: A depleted Aztecs side give top of the league a run for their money.
Injuries kept Laura Ingram and Rebecca Moody out of the side, while the reserves also had a game, meaning players were unavailable to be brought into the first team.
A much improved start to 2023 in front of a solid crowd at Aldenham School. Credit to the hosts Bloomsbury for making an atmosphere. This was a back and forth game with the Aztecs responding to the first three Bloomsbury goals, but not being able to get the fourth. Some great saves from Harkness-Armstrong at the end prevented the equaliser. Maybe another Aztecs body on the court could have made the difference, as it was 7v14, but as we said before the game, on the court it is only 5v5.
One exceptionally bright moment in the game was the excellent team goal finished by Povey, which you can see below.
Rebekah Tonks added to her tally with this fine goal.
After her first T2 goal last week against Reading Amy Maidment followed up by scoring her first T1 goal this week against Bloomsbury.
Player of the match was awarded to Alicia Povey, who finished off a great team move to add another goal to her Aztecs tally.
