7th May 2023: Playoff defeat in the capital to cap off the season.

A strong squad to compete in the playoff quarter-final.

Underground in Kensington, the two teams battled their way through an end-to-end first half. The Aztecs went ahead four times, but kept throwing away the lead, often with self-inflicted mistakes. The period ended 5-4 to the home team, with both sides picking up yellows.
Immediately after the restart, London International extended the lead to 6-4. The dynamic of the game changed, as now the home side were no longer chasing the lead. London International continued to score, with minimal reply from the Aztecs. Even with the boost of two red cards for the hosts, the Aztecs couldn't sufficiently take advantage of the 5v4 and 5v3 scenarios, scoring once and conceding once in that time, from what was a thunderbolt of a free-kick. The clock was ticking away, and London International were very good at keeping possession. When Southampton did have the ball, unfortunately they were unable to create a significant amount of chances.
Disappointing considering the first half performance.

The skilful Sané scores two goals and an assist, earning player of the match.
